Christopher Venzky-Stalling
Student assistant

What sparked your interest in joining the project?
I’m interested in the intersections between the media world, sustainability, and social change – which is exactly why I’m excited to be part of this research project. I’d like to say that I bring a creative perspective, shaped by my personal interests in film and photography, jazz music, and online culture. My experiences outside of academia and now at the start of my studies have also influenced my interest in storytelling and cultural expression. For instance, I organize regular jam sessions at Leuphana, where people come together to collaborate and improvise – something I find inspiring and relevant regarding creating more open, human-centered research spaces.
How do you hope to collaborate with others in this research network?
I want to help get conversations going between everyone in the project and spot interesting stories and perspectives along the way. Seeing all the work and ideas that go into this research up close really inspires me – and I’m excited to help share those insights (and more!) with a broader audience. I’m especially interested in exploring the human side of global value chains – the lived experiences, voices, and tensions that might otherwise be overlooked.
I’m really looking forward to working with everyone in the project, to exciting insights, and to inspiring exchanges!
