Wiebke Bembenek

Student Assistant

What sparked your interest in joining the project?

During my studies so far, I have already dealt with many sustainability issues on a theoretical level - from sustainable chemistry to management and sustainability policy. In doing so, I have increasingly asked myself how social change toward greater sustainability can actually be achieved and what tools are available to do so.

That's why I find it very interesting to look at supply chain legislation as a tool and examine the effects of its implementation or non-implementation. I'm also looking forward to gaining an insight into everyday research work.

How do you hope to collaborate with others in this research network?

Communicating one's own research to society often gets neglected in everyday research. Scientific papers are hardly understandable to the general population, so few people have a real understanding of research results and how science works. This is a shame, because many scientific projects attempt to find answers and solutions to the pressing questions of our time.

It is important to bring these results to society, and science communication can help translate scientific research into practice.

Within the Research Cluster, I would like to get to know the individual research projects and, above all, the people behind them, and bring their research to the outside world.

I am very much looking forward to working together and diving into this exciting project.
