Prof. Dr. Christian Busse

Project PI, Head of Chair of Sustainability and Supply Chain Management

What motivates your research on sustainability in global value chains?

The apparent shortcomings, that is, the unsustainability of global supply chains

Which key challenges or opportunities do you see in making value chains more sustainable?

The combination of information asymmetries with unsuitable incentives and the relative lack of scholarly attention to interorganizational dynamics

How does your current work contribute to sustainability governance in global value chains?

We are trying to better explain the interorganizational dynamics amongst buying firms, their direct and indirect suppliers and the parties in their institutional environment

What excites you most about being part of this research network?

Clearly, the interdisciplinary approach, which will surely generate many valuable inspirations
